Christian reveals how much he doesn’t know about “The Dark Knight Rises”

To prove how tight lipped Nolan can be about his movies, even Christian Bale has not much information about it to accidentally leak. And this article is pretty much what it says. Taken from Comic Book Resources.

It’s hard to get anybody involved with The Dark Knight Rises to speak out about the project — well, it’s not so tough with Michael Caine, it seems — but it’s practically an obligation for any reporter who gets some one-on-one time with one of the film’s several key players to ask about the developing comic book movie sequel.

Naturally, then, as Christian Bale begins making the press rounds for The Fighter — his latest role that, like The Mechanic*, saw Bale drastically transform his own body purely for the craft, and perhaps for a little bit of Oscar buzz — we’re going to be hearing more and more of his thoughts on director Christopher Nolan’s supposed final journey to Gotham City.

There’s two bits from Bale today, the first one originating at E! Online. When asked whether or not he would continue with the Batman franchise, Bale responded: “The thing is that this will be, I believe, unless Chris says different, this will be the last time I’m playing Batman.”

He repeated a similar comment in an interview with MTV News, saying that “this will be the last one, and we have to up it.” But Bale’s comments end right around there, as the actor claims he knows very little about Nolan’s actual plans for The Dark Knight Rises.

“Chris will let me know what I need to know when I need to know it,” he said. “It’s our fourth movie together, and I probably know a little bit more than maybe some people out there, but I think most people will be surprised by how little I do know.”

“It just hasn’t been necessary yet,” he added of why he hasn’t heard more from Nolan. “I know he’ll give me plenty of time to prepare whatever I need to for it and I’ll discover it. He’s a pretty damn good filmmaker I trust that he’s going to come up with something wonderful.”

* = Yes, by the way, I absolutely meant The Machinist. I do not know what came over me. Though the new trailer for The Mechanic is pretty cool — Jason Statham and Ben Foster is a winning duo for sure.

You gotta laugh at the Mechanic blunder over there.
